Rainmaker; Creator & Organiser @ BDL Accelerate
Samer is a rainmaker based out of Beirut, Lebanon.
He is most notably known for creating & organizing one of the world’s 10 largest conferences, BDL Accelerate (see BDLAccelerate.com), which brings together over 25,000 attendees from 86 countries, and has been headlined by Steve Wozniak (Co-Founder of Apple), Tony Fadell (Creator of iPod, iPhone) amongst other global changemakers.
Samer has successfully published two books, the 204-page”Startup Guide Lebanon” and 92-page “Lebanon’s Startup Ecosystem Roadmap”, distributing 10,000 copies of each in print, and at least threefold the number digitally.
Samer founded Startup Megaphone, which was mandated by the Central Bank of Lebanon to promote Lebanon’s startup ecosystem around the world. Since early 2015, Startup Megaphone has successfully built bridges between Lebanon and London, New York, the Bay Area, Singapore, Dubai, Tehran, Paris, Bangkok, Berlin, Cologne, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, Venice, Hyderabad, Baku, Antalya, Kuwait, Sofia, and Bucharest to name a few.
He also founded Seeqnce, one of the Mediterranean & MENA’s 1st accelerators, in 2010, which was featured in The Economist, TechCrunch, The New York Times, et al. Seeqnce’s 1st two batches of startups alone have raised over 10 million US$.
Samer regularly advises the Central Bank of Lebanon on best practices in venture capital, and was a member of the founding steering committee of Lebanon’s 600 million US$ startup fund BDL Circular 331.
For 10 years now, he has played a pivotal role in building Lebanon’s startup ecosystem.
In his free time, Samer enjoys public speaking at conferences, seminars, workshops, and roundtables around the world, with a track record of over 50 engagements in 30 countries.
